Secure Status Lifted at All LCR3 Schools Following Possible Social Media Threat
LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. — All Lincoln County R-III School District buildings were briefly placed under the district’s Secure protocol Monday afternoon following a possible threat posted on social media.
The precaution was taken at the direction of Lincoln County Emergency Management. The district confirmed all students and staff were safe throughout the incident.
Families were initially notified shortly after 12:20 p.m. that every LCR3 school had entered Secure status “out of an abundance of caution.”

A follow-up message sent shortly afterward confirmed the Secure status had been lifted at every building.
“First and foremost, all students and staff are safe,” Community Relations Director Audrey Henebry told Lincoln CountyWatch. “At the direction of Lincoln County Emergency Management, out of an abundance of caution, all LCR3 schools were briefly placed under our Secure protocol this afternoon due to a possible social media threat.”
No additional information has been released regarding the content of the possible threat, where it originated or whether it was directed toward a specific school or individual.
The district said it will provide a debrief when additional information becomes available.
This is a developing story. Lincoln CountyWatch will update this article as more information is confirmed.
