A juvenile was safely located following an overnight search in Troy after being reported missing late Saturday during dangerously cold conditions.
According to the Troy Missouri Police Department, at approximately 11:50 p.m. on December 13, 2025, a 12-year-old juvenile was reported missing from the 800 block of Old Moscow Mills Road. Due to the extremely cold temperatures at the time, law enforcement initiated an extensive search effort immediately.
Multiple agencies responded and worked collaboratively throughout the night. Agencies involved included the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Moscow Mills Police Department, Lincoln County Fire, Wright City Fire Drone Team, and the EMA Drone Team. Additional Troy personnel involved in the search included Lt. McCallister, Detective Morris, and K9 Officer Williams with Odin.
Officials stated that responders developed and followed multiple investigative leads during the search. The coordinated effort ultimately resulted in the safe recovery and return of the juvenile, with authorities confirming the child was located without incident.
Troy police praised the professionalism and inter-agency cooperation displayed during the response, noting that teamwork and rapid coordination were critical factors in achieving a safe outcome, particularly given the weather conditions.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that incidents involving missing juveniles are treated as high-priority calls, especially during extreme weather, and encouraged residents to immediately report concerns to authorities to allow responders to act quickly.
