Wright City Man Accused of Raping Woman After She Fell Asleep at His Apartment
WRIGHT CITY, Mo. — Before arriving at Yanuar Rodriguez’s apartment, a woman told him his sexual advances made her uncomfortable. Later that night, she said, she awoke to unwanted sexual contact, pushed him away and asked him to stop.
Her account of the assault—and evidence recovered during a search of the apartment—led to two felony charges.
Yanuar Rodriguez, Wright City, Mo.

CHARGES
Rape or attempted rape, first degree — Unclassified felony
Sodomy or attempted sodomy, first degree — Unclassified felony
The woman drove Rodriguez home after a barbecue in Warrenton on Oct. 23. During the drive, she confronted him about advances she did not welcome.
At his apartment, he persuaded her to come inside and provided more alcoholic drinks. She became heavily intoxicated and fell asleep in his bed.
She told police she awoke to Rodriguez kissing her face and making a sexual remark. She pushed him away, but he continued with unwanted oral sexual contact followed by penetration.
She said she told him it hurt and asked him to stop. He continued, telling her she was being mean to him.
Afterward, the woman noticed blood on the mattress. She said Rodriguez saw it and instructed her to shower. She went into the bathroom and vomited in the shower.
A sexual-assault examination was performed at Mercy Hospital the following day. The hospital notified Wright City Police, and the woman later gave an account of the encounter at the police department.
When officers searched Rodriguez’s apartment on Oct. 28, they found a significant red stain on the mattress that tested positive for blood during a preliminary test. They also documented blood on two blankets and apparent vomit on a towel and inside the shower.
Rodriguez was arrested that afternoon.
Judge Yelton signed the no-bond warrant the next day. The order states that no combination of financial or nonfinancial release conditions would ensure the safety of the community or another person.
The warrant lists first-degree offenses, while the supporting police statement references second-degree offenses. The charges above reflect the warrant.
The victim’s name and identifying details are being withheld.
