
Felony Domestic Assault Charge Filed Against Hawk Point Man

LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. — A Hawk Point man is in custody following a felony domestic assault charge stemming from an incident reported earlier this month, according to court records.
Court documents show Joshua A. McClelland has been charged with Domestic Assault in the Third Degree, a Class E felony, in connection with an alleged incident that occurred on December 19, 2025, in Lincoln County.

According to a probable cause statement filed by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a physical domestic disturbance. The reporting deputy stated that contact was made with McClelland and an adult female identified as the victim. The victim reported an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.
The probable cause statement alleges that McClelland forcefully placed his arm around the victim’s neck in what was described as a choke hold. The deputy reported observing redness on the victim’s neck consistent with the account provided. The victim stated she feared she would not be able to get away.
Court records indicate that a felony complaint was filed and a warrant for arrest was issued by the court. The Lincoln County Jail confirmed that McClelland is currently in custody.
Bond was authorized in the amount of $7,500, cash only, with a condition of no contact with the victim, according to the arrest warrant.
The charge carries a potential range of punishment under Missouri law that includes incarceration or other penalties if convicted. No court date has been announced at this time.
