Man Charged After Woman Reports Shock Collar Incident, Escalating Violence at Troy Home
TROY, Mo. — A Troy man is facing a domestic assault charge after a series of escalating confrontations inside a Troy home culminated in an incident involving a dog shock collar.
Police were called to the home shortly before 10 p.m. Sept. 10 for a physical domestic disturbance involving Cody Carson Cameron Jeffs.
The woman involved described growing tension inside the home beginning in August, with arguments becoming increasingly physical. She said Jeffs had also repeatedly talked about a murder-suicide involving the two of them and questioned her about the location of a handgun.
The situation had reached a point where the two were staying in separate areas of the home. The woman began locking the door to the bedroom where she was staying to keep Jeffs out. During one confrontation, Jeffs forced his way through the bedroom door. Officers later observed damage to the door consistent with it having been forced open.

Two days before police were called, another argument became physical. Jeffs grabbed the woman by the hair and engaged in additional unwanted behavior before the confrontation ended.
Another argument broke out Sept. 10.
During the confrontation, Jeffs again brought up a murder-suicide before the argument escalated and water was thrown between the two.
Jeffs then got into the woman's face and used his chest to push her backward.
A shock collar used for a dog was hanging near a key rack inside the home. Jeffs grabbed the collar and attempted to place it around the woman's neck while pressing the shock button.
The collar was not secured around her neck, and she was not shocked.
The woman was eventually able to get away from the confrontation and contacted police.

The court imposed several conditions restricting Jeffs' contact with the woman. Those conditions include no contact and GPS monitoring with a one-mile exclusion zone around locations where she may be found.
Jeffs is also prohibited from consuming alcohol or using mind- or mood-altering substances and is required to participate in SCRAM CAM monitoring.
The case remains pending in Lincoln County Circuit Court.
