
Lincoln County Authorities Say Moscow Mills Man Wanted Following Child Sex Crime Investigation

Update: Authorities now show Alan Gerard Melancon Jr. is in custody in Lincoln County following the filing of the felony child sex crime charges earlier this week. Melancon was previously listed as wanted after a $300,000 cash-only warrant was issued.
A Lincoln County man is wanted after felony child sex crime charges were filed in connection to an investigation involving a child under the age of 12.
Authorities say Alan Gerard Melancon Jr., of Moscow Mills, is accused of multiple crimes following an investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

Investigators say the case began after allegations involving a child were reported to authorities in Lincoln County.
During the investigation, authorities say a child disclosed repeated incidents of inappropriate sexual contact that allegedly occurred inside a Lincoln County residence when she was approximately seven years old.
The child later participated in a forensic interview at the Child Advocacy Center of Northeast Missouri in Wentzville as part of the investigation.
Authorities say investigators later interviewed him regarding the allegations.
Following the investigation, prosecutors filed multiple felony charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The case remains active and additional information may become available through the court process.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
