Public Asked To Avoid Pinewood Drive Area As Active Barricaded Incident Continues

WINFIELD, Mo. — (Update: 9:15 a.m., July 29, 2026) Residents are being asked to avoid the Pinewood Drive area in Winfield as the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and multiple assisting agencies continue responding to an active barricaded subject incident.

As of 9:15 a.m., Pinewood Drive remains closed and numerous law enforcement officers and emergency personnel remain on scene. The Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT Team has been requested to assist, and authorities continue asking the public to stay away from the area while the incident is resolved.

Law enforcement agencies established a perimeter near Pinewood Drive as officers responded to an active barricaded subject incident Tuesday morning in Winfield.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded Tuesday morning to a reported domestic disturbance involving an alleged assault at a residence on Pinewood Drive.

When deputies arrived, they encountered an adult male believed to be armed. Authorities said the man retreated into the residence, prompting deputies to establish a secure perimeter while additional law enforcement resources were requested.

The adult female involved in the incident was safely removed from the residence. She is receiving medical attention for injuries and is cooperating with investigators.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed to Lincoln CountyWatch that its SWAT Team has been requested to assist with the incident.

"We are currently on a call at that location with a barricaded subject from an incident Lincoln County dealt with this morning," Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Scott Gadberry told Lincoln CountyWatch. "They asked for assistance from our SWAT team. We ask that people stay out of the area so we can resolve the situation without incident."

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troy Police Department, Lincoln County Ambulance District and the Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency are assisting at the scene.

Deputies and assisting agencies remained on scene outside the residence as authorities continued working to safely resolve the active barricaded subject incident.

Authorities have not released the identity of the individuals involved, and no additional information about the investigation has been released.
