Troy Man Faces New Domestic Assault Charges While Out on Bond

TROY, Mo. — A Troy man accused of striking a woman while she held her infant child is now charged with choking and threatening the same victim after being released on bond in the earlier case.
Charges:
Second-degree domestic assault, a Class D felony
Third-degree domestic assault, a Class E felony
Fourth-degree domestic assault — third or subsequent offense, a Class E felony
The new charges stem from a Feb. 8 incident at the victim’s Troy residence.
Turkington reportedly used a key to enter the home shortly before midnight. He was no longer living at the residence because of the pending domestic assault case involving the same victim.
After entering the home, Turkington took the victim’s cellphone and searched through her social media messages. He then woke her by screaming, calling her names and pulling her hair.
The woman attempted to escape through the front door and seek help, but Turkington grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back inside. He slapped her across the face before wrapping his arm around her neck and applying pressure until she could no longer breathe.
Turkington released the chokehold and dragged the woman into a bedroom, where he threatened to publish intimate photographs of her on social media if she contacted police or “played any games.”
The woman remained inside the bedroom for approximately two hours before Turkington left the residence.
At the time of the alleged assault, Turkington was free on bond in a separate case filed after an Oct. 27, 2025, incident involving the same victim.
In that case, Turkington is charged with third-degree domestic assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The woman was holding her 10-month-old child when Turkington grabbed her by the hair and struck her in the back of the head with a closed fist.
Turkington posted a bond in November 2025. His release conditions included real-time GPS monitoring, SCRAM alcohol monitoring and no contact with the victim or her children.
A motion to revoke Turkington’s bond in the earlier case was filed July 9. A two-day jury trial is scheduled to begin Nov. 9 before Circuit Judge James David Beck.
Turkington’s criminal history listed in the new filing includes previous convictions for domestic assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The filing states his repeated acts of violence presented a continued danger to the victim.
Turkington remains in custody at the Lincoln County Jail.
