Silex Alderman Billy Holcomb Says He Will Resign Effective Today
SILEX, Mo. — Silex Alderman Billy Holcomb told Lincoln CountyWatch Monday morning that he intends to resign from the Silex Board of Aldermen effective today, Sept. 14, the latest development amid months of tension within Silex city government.
Holcomb contacted Lincoln CountyWatch directly Monday morning to disclose his decision.
The announcement comes after months of disagreement and tension involving Mayor Lynne Luckett and members of the Board of Aldermen. Lincoln CountyWatch has been covering the issues within Silex city government since December, with tensions dating back to at least October.
Holcomb did not go into detail Monday morning about what ultimately led to his decision to leave the board.
He has agreed to sit down exclusively with Lincoln CountyWatch in the coming days for a more extensive interview about his resignation, his time as an alderman and the circumstances surrounding his decision.
Lincoln CountyWatch contacted Luckett following Holcomb's announcement and asked for her response to the alderman's planned resignation.
Luckett responded, "No comment."
