Moscow Mills Mayor Lisa Meyer has filed a lawsuit against the City of Moscow Mills, alleging she was stripped of her authority after investigating alleged public bidding violations. The lawsuit includes claims of sex discrimination, retaliation and whistleblower violations.

A citizen-requested state audit gave the City of Elsberry a "Fair" rating and identified concerns involving police evidence tracking, utility billing, finances, and transparency.
