
Highway 79 Drug Interdiction Results In Drug Trafficking Charges, $200,000 Cash Bonds

Old Monroe, Mo. — A Highway 79 drug interdiction operation near Old Monroe allegedly uncovered nearly two kilograms of methamphetamine and more than 240 grams of cocaine, resulting in drug trafficking charges and $200,000 cash-only bonds for two men.
Justin W. Woodson, 40, of St. Louis, and Gregory Joseph Schwartz, 57, of Palmyra, remain in custody at the Lincoln County Jail following the investigation conducted by the DEA St. Louis Group 37 Task Force and Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the allegations, investigators developed information regarding a vehicle believed to be transporting narcotics through Lincoln County and established surveillance as part of a drug interdiction operation.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper later located the vehicle traveling on Highway 79 near Old Monroe and initiated a traffic stop after observing traffic violations.
Authorities allege a search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 1,939.9 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 241.5 grams of cocaine concealed inside a black bag.
The amount of methamphetamine recovered was just shy of two kilograms.
Investigators allege both men knowingly possessed the narcotics and were transporting them through the area when the vehicle was stopped.
Both men were taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail, where they remain held on $200,000 cash-only bonds.
The charges remain allegations. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
