Lincoln County, Mo — Two separate storms moved through Lincoln County yesterday and overnight, leaving behind widespread damage and knocking out power to thousands.
The first storm moved through earlier in the day, catching many off guard. That round appeared to hit areas like Old Monroe and Winfield, bringing strong winds that snapped power poles and knocked down trees. Most of that damage was scattered and consistent with straight-line winds.

The second storm came through later that night — and the damage from that one was significantly worse.
That storm appears to have mainly impacted the Moscow Mills area, where early reports show a trailer flipped onto its side, a shed completely overturned, and a billboard driven into a mobile home. The home was not occupied at the time.
While some initial reports have suggested the possibility of a tornado, nothing has been confirmed.

The more severe structural damage — including the flipped trailer, overturned shed, and billboard impact — all appears tied to that overnight storm.
Power outages are also widespread. Ameren and Cuivre River Electric both reported multiple outages, with Cuivre River Electric showing over 1,000 customers affected in Lincoln County alone.
Lincoln CountyWatch contacted Lincoln County 911, who confirmed that as of now, there have been no reported injuries or fatalities related to the storms.

At this time, it remains unclear whether the damage was caused by straight-line winds or a tornado. Further review and any potential storm surveys will determine that.
This is a developing situation, and Lincoln CountyWatch will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
