TROY, Mo. — Charges have been filed against a Troy man following a reported domestic disturbance in Lincoln County earlier this month.

Daniel R. Stone has been charged with Domestic Assault in the Third Degree, a Class E felony, in connection with an incident reported on January 3, 2026. A separate Class A misdemeanor charge of Domestic Assault in the Fourth Degree has also been filed related to the same incident.

According to information provided by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence in Troy during the early morning hours. The investigation resulted in allegations that a domestic altercation occurred between individuals known to each other.

During the incident, a juvenile reportedly contacted dispatch requesting assistance for their mother.

The felony charge alleges that Stone knowingly caused physical pain to a domestic victim. The misdemeanor charge alleges the victim was placed in apprehension of immediate physical injury through actions and threats during the incident. The individuals involved are reported to be related by marriage.

An arrest warrant was issued after probable cause was established. Bond was authorized at $5,000 cash, with a no-contact condition ordered upon release. As of the time of publication, Stone is not in custody, and no court date has been scheduled.

If convicted, a Class E felony in Missouri carries a potential sentence of one to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. A Class A misdemeanor carries a potential sentence of up to one year in county jail and/or a fine.

The case is filed in the 45th Judicial Circuit Court of Lincoln County, with Judge Michael R. Jacobs listed as the issuing judge.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
