Charges

  • 3 counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Subsection 4 (Exhibiting)

  • 3 counts of Armed Criminal Action

Officers were called to Troy City Park on the evening of March 23 after reports that someone inside a green truck was pointing a firearm at people in the park.

When officers arrived, they found the vehicle still on scene with two men inside.

Both were detained as officers began investigating what had just happened.

Inside the truck, officers located two Taurus 9mm pistols, both equipped with green laser attachments — matching what witnesses described.

Multiple people at the park told officers the passenger in the truck had pointed the firearm at them. Authorities say those statements consistently identified Gibson.

One of the pistols was found on the passenger-side floorboard where Gibson had been seated.

The detail that stood out to investigators — and witnesses — was the laser.

People at the park described a green laser being pointed at them, and both firearms recovered from the vehicle were fitted with green laser devices.

Authorities allege Gibson pointed the weapon at multiple individuals, leading to three separate victims and multiple felony charges.

He remains in custody.

A charge is merely an accusation. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
