One Fatality Confirmed Following Overnight Rollover Crash In Troy

Troy, Mo. — One person is dead following a fiery overnight rollover crash along Hwy 47 near Woodcrest Dr in Troy.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the area during the early morning hours Wednesday after reports of a serious motor vehicle accident.

When crews arrived, they located a heavily damaged vehicle off the roadway with heavy fire showing from the crash scene as firefighters, EMS personnel, and law enforcement began working the incident.

Lincoln County Coroner Dan Heavin later arrived on scene and confirmed to Lincoln CountyWatch that crews were working one fatality involving one unidentified victim.

As of publication, the victim’s identity has not yet been released pending family notification.

Traffic along Hwy 47 remained shut down for several hours Wednesday morning while investigators processed the scene and crews worked to clear debris from the roadway.

The roadway is expected to reopen shortly.

Lincoln CountyWatch has reached out to Troy Police for clarification regarding the events leading up to the crash but has not received a response at this time.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
