Online Sale Ends With Gun Held to Seller’s Head; Robbery Charges Filed
TROY, Mo. — The seller agreed to meet prospective buyers. He told police that once he climbed into the back seat of their vehicle, three people robbed him at gunpoint.
The encounter has led to two felony charges against a suspect accused of both holding a loaded gun to his head and driving the getaway car.
Chase Murphy, Troy, Missouri

CHARGES
First-degree robbery — Class A felony
Armed criminal action — Unclassified felony
The May 26 meeting began with items offered for sale online. The victim arranged to meet the group in Troy, but the transaction he described to officers ended with his belongings being stolen.
Multiple firearms were involved. Murphy is accused of pointing a loaded gun at the victim’s head and helping take his belongings before driving the group away.
Troy police responded to the robbery report at approximately 8:36 p.m. All three suspects were later apprehended.
Murphy subsequently participated in a recorded interview with his guardian present. During that conversation, he admitted his involvement and gave a detailed account of the robbery.
He now faces first-degree robbery and armed criminal action charges in Lincoln County case No. 26L6-CR00633.
The arrest warrant was signed October 2 and filed October 16. Judge Michael R. Jacobs set bond at $25,000 cash only and imposed restrictions on any release.
Those restrictions prohibit Murphy from contacting the victim or possessing weapons. GPS monitoring must be in place before release, with exclusion zones around places where the victim can be found.
