Troy Police Arrest Woman After Domestic Argument Turns Physical

LINCOLN COUNTY, MO — A Troy woman is facing a felony domestic assault charge following an incident earlier this month that investigators say escalated from a verbal dispute into a physical altercation involving a metal cup.

  • Domestic Assault, 2nd Degree (Felony)

  • Trespassing, 1st Degree (Misdemeanor)


Bond:

  • $10,000 cash only

  • No contact with the victim

  • SCRAM alcohol monitoring

  • GPS monitoring if released

According to court records, the incident occurred Sunday, January 19, 2026, when Troy Police were dispatched to a residence for a reported domestic disturbance.


Officers made contact with both parties at the scene and documented visible injuries to the alleged victim. Investigators say the confrontation began as a verbal argument before turning physical.


During the altercation, Edelen is accused of striking the victim in the head with a metal drinking cup, causing injury. Officers located the cup believed to have been used during the incident inside the residence and noted damage and physical indicators consistent with the account provided.


The victim declined additional medical transport but was evaluated by emergency responders at the scene. Court records indicate the individuals involved were in a domestic relationship.


Edelen was taken into custody following the investigation and later formally charged.


Edelin is scheduled to make her initial court appearance on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 1:35 p.m. in Lincoln County Associate Division III. The hearing will be held at the Lincoln County Courthouse in Troy and will address the pending charges.
