Wanted Man Accused Of Fleeing Deputies Through Lincoln County Before Capture

TROY, Mo. — A man wanted on an active Lincoln County warrant was arrested Monday night after a traffic stop turned into a pursuit through rural Lincoln County roads and ended with a foot chase.

What began as a stop for a missing front license plate near Highway 47 and North Chantilly Road quickly escalated when the driver continued driving rather than pulling over.

The pursuit wound through several Lincoln County roadways, including North Chantilly Road, Ethlyn Road, Argentville Road, Highway EE, McClay Road, Highway Y, Sand Hill Road, McIntosh Hill Road and Cannon Road.

During the pursuit, the driver reached speeds of 40 to 50 mph, ran a stop sign and crossed into an opposing lane of traffic, forcing another motorist to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

The chase came to an end near McIntosh Hill Road when the truck stopped and the driver took off on foot.

Deputies pursued the suspect a short distance before taking him into custody without further incident.

Jordon Lee Sanders, of Union, Missouri.

The arrest also cleared an active warrant that had previously been issued in Lincoln County.

Court records show Sanders was wanted in connection with an earlier Troy Police Department investigation in which he was charged with Domestic Assault in the Third Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the Second Degree.

During an interview following his arrest, Sanders told deputies he knew law enforcement was looking for him and said his probation officer had instructed him not to be in Lincoln County.

Judge Michael R. Jacobs issued the warrant in the pursuit case Tuesday, charging Sanders with Resisting Arrest by Flight and Driving While Revoked.

Both cases remain pending.
