A deputy first observed a black Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle traveling without a rear license plate along Mcintosh Hill Road near Hancock Street.

As the motorcycle approached an intersection, the rider failed to stop at a stop sign and continued onto Elm Street.

Emergency lights and sirens were activated, but instead of stopping, the rider accelerated.

The pursuit continued through multiple roadways, including Addison Street and Highway 79, where speeds exceeded 100 miles per hour.

At one point during the chase, the rider crossed into the opposite lane, forcing another vehicle to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

The pursuit came to an end near Highway M when the motorcycle abruptly stopped and fell over.

The rider then fled on foot into a wooded area.

After searching the area, deputies located the suspect and took him into custody without further incident.

He was identified as Michael Joseph Chaney, of O’Fallon, Missouri.

Further investigation showed Chaney had an active warrant out of St. Charles County and did not have a valid driver’s license.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
