TROY, Mo. — What started as a break-in during severe weather over the weekend has now led to felony charges for a Moscow Mills man accused of forcing his way into a Troy law office and causing significant damage inside.
Drake Evans Aske

Charges
Burglary, 2nd Degree (Felony D)
Property Damage, 1st Degree (Felony E)
A warrant has been issued with a $20,000 cash-only bond. Aske is currently in custody.
The incident unfolded Sunday as storms moved through the area, when Troy Police were called to a reported burglary at the Law Offices of Jesse Granneman on Manor Drive.
When officers arrived, they found a scene that showed clear signs of forced entry. Glass doors at the front of the building had been shattered, along with additional windows inside the office, including at the reception area.
Investigators say the damage didn’t stop there.
A fire extinguisher from inside the building was used to break more glass and cause further destruction throughout the office, leaving debris scattered across multiple areas inside.
Blood was also found inside the building, including droplets and smears throughout the foyer and office space, adding to the extent of the scene officers encountered.
As the investigation developed, police identified Drake Evans Aske as the suspect and later made contact with him.
Aske admitted to breaking into the law office during the storm, telling investigators he had recently been evicted from a Troy motel and had nowhere to go. He said he entered the building to get out of the rain and was also looking for a pen and paper.
He also told investigators he had been drinking and was highly intoxicated, and said he could not remember everything that happened inside the building.
He was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Corrections, where he remains.
As of Tuesday, Aske is scheduled to make his initial court appearance this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in Lincoln County Associate Division III.
