TROY, Mo. — A Troy man is wanted after investigators say disturbing surveillance video inside a home captured him physically abusing two toddlers.

According to court documents filed Thursday, Kameron Kevin Clayton, of Troy, is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges including Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree and Abuse or Neglect of a Child in the Second Degree.

Investigators say the case involves two children who were three years old or younger and were under Clayton’s care at the time.

Charges

• Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 1st Degree (Felony)

• Abuse or Neglect of a Child – 2nd Degree (Felony)

• Additional misdemeanor counts of Abuse or Neglect of a Child

• Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 2nd Degree

A Lincoln County judge issued an arrest warrant on March 12, 2026, ordering Clayton to be held without bond pending trial if taken into custody.

As of publication, Clayton had not been taken into custody. A mugshot was not available at the time of publication.

During the investigation, deputies obtained surveillance video from inside the residence that allegedly captured the incident.

According to investigators, the footage shows Clayton striking one of the children approximately six times with an open hand.

The video then reportedly shows Clayton picking the child up by the arm and leg and throwing the toddler onto the floor.

The child could be heard crying and attempting to crawl away.

Investigators say Clayton then grabbed a pillow and forced it down onto the child, striking the child in the face and head and causing him to fall again as he attempted to move away.

During the incident, Clayton can allegedly be heard yelling at the child.

According to court documents, Clayton told the child to “stop throwing shit in the fucking litter box you dumb fuck.”

Authorities say the video also shows Clayton throwing items around the room during the confrontation. At one point, an object was thrown in the direction of the second toddler, who was also present in the room.

Investigators say the second child could be seen covering his face with a couch cushion while the incident unfolded.

Detectives later obtained text messages between Clayton and a witness in which Clayton acknowledged his actions and admitted he may have gone too far while disciplining the child.

Investigators say the messages, along with the video evidence, were used to support the request for an arrest warrant.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division continues to handle the case.

Clayton is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
