WINFIELD, Mo. — Mason Alonzo Hammett, 22, of Winfield, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026.


Born on February 5, 2004, in St. Charles, Missouri, Mason was the son of Megan Lucero and Luke Hammett.


Mason was one of the most kindhearted people to all who knew and loved him. The depth of his soul was special and touched the lives of many.


He had a passion for gaming, pets, and heavy metal music. At his first concert, he went straight for the mosh pit. He especially loved spending time with the friends and family who brought him comfort.


Mason had a fighting spirit and overcame many challenges throughout his life. Those who knew him are thankful and blessed for the time they shared with him.


He is survived by his father, Luke Hammett; his sister, Polaris Hammett; two aunts, Chelsey Lucero and Ciara Lucero; his stepmother, Jenny Slaughter; his best friends, Jacob, Drew, and Alex; his friends from Rural King; along with other relatives and special friends.


He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lucero; his mother, Megan Lucero; his great-grandparents, the Luceros; and his grandmother, Bea Lucero.


Mason will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
