TROY, Mo. — A Troy man is in custody after deputies say a domestic dispute inside a residence escalated into a physical altercation early Wednesday morning.
Benjamin S. Cross

Charges:
Domestic Assault – 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
Bond has been set at $2,500 cash only. Cross remains in custody at the Lincoln County Jail. No court date has been scheduled at this time.
Deputies responded during the early morning hours of February 11 for a domestic disturbance call.
Inside the home, an adult female told deputies she and Cross had been arguing and that his behavior escalates when he drinks. She had recently returned home after visiting a newborn at the hospital.
A short time later, Cross allegedly began flipping breakers in the home’s electrical panel, repeatedly shutting the power on and off. When confronted about drinking, the argument intensified.
Authorities say Cross pushed her into a baby gate in the hallway before forcing her face into the carpet while she was on the ground. Deputies observed redness on her nose and forehead consistent with a recent physical altercation.
Damage inside the home was also documented, including punched walls and items knocked over from an earlier disturbance earlier in the week.
Cross admitted to drinking but initially downplayed how much he consumed. Deputies later administered a breath test that showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.188.
Both individuals were detained while deputies completed their investigation. Prosecutors have formally charged Cross with Domestic Assault – 3rd Degree.
Cross is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
