A violent morning in Troy didn’t end with an arrest — it spiraled into something much bigger. What started as a domestic disturbance quickly turned into a brutal assault, threats that shook those involved, and then hours later, more chaos unfolding inside the Lincoln County Jail. Authorities say Cody Eugene Dorman carried that same aggression from the street straight into custody, stacking charge after charge in a matter of hours.
Cody Eugene Dorman, of Troy, Missouri

• Domestic Assault 2nd Degree (Felony D)
• Domestic Assault 3rd Degree (Misdemeanor A)
• Domestic Assault 4th Degree – Prior Offender
• Endangering a Corrections Employee (x2) (Felony E)
• Property Damage 1st Degree
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2026, at 1:35 p.m. at the Lincoln County Justice Center for his initial appearance.
Officers were called out early Monday morning after a domestic disturbance was reported in Troy. As crews arrived, a vehicle was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed, leading to a traffic stop shortly after.
Dorman, identified as the driver, initially refused to follow commands before eventually exiting the vehicle.
What unfolded leading up to that stop was described as a violent escalation during an argument. The situation quickly turned physical, with Dorman allegedly threatening to “beat her ass” before pulling the victim from a vehicle, throwing her to the ground, and striking her multiple times.
At one point, he is accused of placing his hands around her neck and telling her he would choke her to death. The victim reported being unable to breathe and fearing for her life.
Part of the incident was captured on video by a witness nearby. Audio from that recording includes Dorman making statements such as, “I will kill you by the time they get here,” and, “If you call the cops… you’re going to suffer.”
Dorman was taken into custody at the scene.
But the situation didn’t stop there.
After being booked into the Lincoln County Jail, Dorman’s behavior escalated again. He is accused of damaging jail property, including electronics and communication equipment, before being moved to a more secure area of the facility.
Even there, authorities say the situation continued to intensify.
Dorman allegedly made threats toward corrections officers, at one point stating he would get a knife and stab one of them. He is also accused of spitting on multiple officers, making physical contact — actions that resulted in additional felony charges.
Multiple staff members were required to respond before Dorman was ultimately secured and placed on full lockdown.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
