Troy, Mo — What began as a late-night traffic stop for a simple equipment violation quickly escalated into a high-speed pursuit topping 110 miles per hour, ending in multiple charges including driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
Chayse Levi Coleman, of Truxton, Missouri

Charges:
• Driving While Intoxicated
• Resisting Arrest by Flight (Vehicle)
• Careless and Imprudent Driving
• Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle
• Equipment Violation (Non-Functioning Headlight)
Preliminary hearing scheduled for April 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Lincoln County Associate Division III.
The incident began late Sunday night when a Lincoln County deputy observed a vehicle traveling along Highway 47 with a non-functioning headlight.
When emergency lights and sirens were activated, the driver did not stop.
Instead, authorities say the vehicle accelerated, reaching speeds exceeding 110 miles per hour. During the pursuit, the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic lanes before returning to its lane, creating dangerous conditions for other drivers on the roadway.
The pursuit continued through multiple areas, including Highway 47, Highway A, and into the Hawk Point area, before the driver eventually disappeared from view due to road conditions and curves.
Authorities later identified the vehicle and tracked it to a residence in Lincoln County.
According to authorities, a man later identified as Chayse Levi Coleman exited the residence without a shirt or shoes and initially acted unaware of the situation.
During contact, deputies noted signs of impairment, including red, bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of burnt marijuana.
Coleman admitted to fleeing from law enforcement, stating he was scared because he had marijuana in his possession.
Field sobriety tests were conducted, where deputies observed indicators of impairment during multiple evaluations.
Coleman was taken into custody without further incident and transported for a blood draw.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
