Lincoln County Coroner Identifies 22-Year-Old Killed In Hwy 47 Crash Near Troy

Troy, Mo. — Updated story: The Lincoln County Coroner’s Office has identified the 22-year-old man killed in a crash early Sunday morning along Hwy 47 near Two Pine Drive in Troy as Mason Hammett.


Emergency crews responded to the scene around 5 a.m. after reports of a serious two-vehicle crash along Hwy 47 east of Troy.

UPDATE: The Lincoln County Coroner’s Office released the victim’s identity Sunday morning after next of kin notifications were completed. According to the release, Mason Hammett, 22, of Troy, Missouri was pronounced deceased at the scene.


The crash led to a large emergency response and forced Hwy 47 to shut down in both directions for several hours while crews worked the scene and investigators processed the incident.


The Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting the crash investigation, while the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office is handling the death investigation.


No additional official details regarding the cause of the crash have been released at this time pending the ongoing investigation.
