Emergency Crews Respond To Winfield Structure Fire As One Person Is Detained Near Scene

Winfield, Mo. — Emergency crews responded Saturday afternoon to a structure fire near Hwy 79 and Hwy 47 in Winfield, leading to a large emergency response.

Firefighters, EMS personnel, and law enforcement agencies were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. after reports of a structure fire near the busy Winfield intersection.


Smoke could be seen from the area as crews worked the scene.


A patient was confirmed during the incident response, though officials have not released the extent of injuries at this time.


At one point during the response, one individual was detained near the scene. Authorities have not released additional information regarding the detention or whether it is connected to the fire investigation.
