Bomb Squad Response in Troy Ends With No Threat to Public

TROY, Mo. — A law enforcement investigation in a Troy neighborhood concluded early Friday morning after officials confirmed a reported suspicious package was determined to be safe.


According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious package in the area of Winding Wood Drive. As a precaution, the roadway was closed and occupants of a nearby residence were evacuated while authorities assessed the situation.


Fire units were toned and staged during the investigation, and a bomb squad was requested to assist. Officials later confirmed the bomb squad responded to the scene and determined the reported item did not pose a threat.


At approximately 1:11 a.m., authorities stated the incident had been resolved and that there was no threat to the public. Units began clearing the scene shortly afterward, with a limited law enforcement presence remaining briefly as normal operations resumed.


No injuries were reported.
