LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. — A late-night disturbance in Lincoln County ended with a Wentzville woman in custody after deputies say a roadside altercation left multiple people injured.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, after receiving reports of a disturbance involving several individuals in the roadway.

When deputies arrived, they found multiple people outside near the residence, including a woman who appeared unsteady on her feet while walking toward the home.

Authorities identified the woman as Angela Ezell of Wentzville.

Charges

• Assault 2nd Degree

• Domestic Assault 3rd Degree

• Property Damage 2nd Degree

Ezell was taken into custody following the incident and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Court records show a counsel status hearing is scheduled for April 21, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Associate Division III at the Lincoln County Justice Center in Troy.

Investigators say the incident began when a confrontation escalated into a physical fight involving multiple people.

One victim told deputies she had been pushed to the ground from behind, striking her head on the concrete. The impact left her with a large knot on her forehead, swelling around her eyes, and severe bruising to her face.

The victim also reported briefly losing consciousness after hitting the ground.

A second victim attempted to intervene and pull Ezell away from the attack, but deputies say she was also assaulted during the altercation.

According to investigators, the second victim suffered injuries to her neck and fingers, including a broken finger, during the struggle. Eyeglasses belonging to the victim were also damaged in the fight.

Deputies also spoke with another witness who reported visible injuries including a bleeding lip and a knot on the head after attempting to calm the situation.

Emergency medical personnel from the Lincoln County Ambulance District responded to the scene and treated the victims for their injuries.

Investigators say Ezell admitted to starting the physical confrontation, telling deputies she struck the first victim during the argument.

Deputies took Ezell into custody without further incident.

A charge is merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
