Craig Meckfessel was taken into custody following an investigation led by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from regional cybercrime units. The case originated after information was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, prompting a coordinated law enforcement response.

Investigators say a search warrant was executed at Meckfessel’s Moscow Mills residence on January 13, 2026. During the search, electronic devices were seized for forensic examination.

According to the Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, thousands of files linked to the suspect have since been recovered. Digital forensic teams are continuing to review the material as part of the ongoing investigation. Prosecutors state that three counts of possession of child pornography have been filed at this time, and that Meckfessel is being held on a no-bond warrant to ensure he remains in custody while the investigation continues.

Authorities have indicated that additional charges are possible as more files are reviewed and identified.

The arrest warrant in the case was issued by Associate Circuit Judge Michael R. Jacobs. Court proceedings are pending in Lincoln County Circuit Court, and further hearings are expected as the case progresses.
