Silex Mayor Confirms Two Firearms Missing and Reported Stolen

SILEX, Mo. — Two firearms are missing in Silex, and reports identifying them as stolen have been filed with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Mayor Lynne Luckett confirmed the missing firearms to Lincoln CountyWatch while responding to questions about information uncovered during our reporting.

Lincoln CountyWatch first learned of the situation after reviewing body-camera footage in which the missing firearms were discussed with a deputy. A source who was present for the conversation separately confirmed what was heard in the footage.

Luckett later confirmed that two firearms were missing and that both had been reported stolen with the Sheriff’s Office.

Exactly when the firearms disappeared, where they were last kept and when the reports were filed remain unclear.

Lincoln CountyWatch has also not independently confirmed who owned the firearms, their make or model, who last possessed them or whether investigators have identified any suspects.

A report identifying property as stolen does not, by itself, establish how it disappeared or who may be responsible.

Lincoln CountyWatch contacted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office seeking additional information about the reports and whether an active investigation is underway.

The Sheriff’s Office had not responded as of publication.
