Winfield Motorcyclist Injured In Hwy 47 Crash Near Millstone Lake Drive

Winfield, Mo. — A Thursday evening crash involving a motorcycle and passenger car shut down Highway 47 near Millstone Lake Drive and left a Winfield man seriously injured.


Emergency crews were called to the area around 5:23 p.m. after reports of a collision involving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Chevrolet Malibu at the intersection of southbound Hwy 47 and Millstone Lake Drive.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred after the driver of a westbound 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the path of a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Malibu.


The front of the Malibu struck the passenger side of the motorcycle.


The motorcycle rider, a 51-year-old Winfield man, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by the Lincoln County Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Troopers noted the rider was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.


The driver of the Malibu, a 32-year-old Winfield woman, was not reported injured.


The motorcycle sustained total damage while the Malibu received moderate damage. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by B&B Towing of Winfield.


Traffic in the area was impacted for an extended period while emergency crews worked the scene and cleared the roadway.


The crash remains under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
